We are seeking for an individual to serve as our PACPI Perinatal Analyst. Under the direction of the Pediatric AIDS Chicago Prevention Initiative Executive Director, the PACPI Perinatal Analyst is responsible for support of implementation repeat third trimester testing in Illinois hospitals as funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health. This is a part-time position (20-24 hours per week).

Principal functions and responsibilities of this position include the following:

Oversight and Development

  • Responsible for oversight and development of implementation plans for Illinois hospital to conduct repeat third trimester HIV testing in compliance with Illinois law, in conjunction with appropriate perinatal network and hospital administrators;
  • Develop training plans and resources as requested for identified hospitals;
  • Provide assistance to hospitals, as requested, with quality assurance. Retain documentation on assistance provided;
  • Collaborate with PACPI and the 24/7 Perinatal HIV Hotline to develop materials focused on reporting, screening, training and support for statewide implementation of repeat third trimester testing;
  • Collate and analyze statewide hospital survey addressing needs, strengths and issues.


  • Assist with agency-wide activities as directed, including Annual Meeting, AIDS Run & Walk, and others;
  • Assist with other AFC activities as requested;
  • Protect organization’s value and manage risk by keeping information confidential;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years or more experience abstracting and analyzing hospital or clinic records

Working knowledge of hospital or public health clinic charting and record keeping

Knowledge of perinatal HIV transmission prevention strategies

Valid U.S. Driver’s license, insurance, and consistent access to an automobile

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree (MSN, MPH, MBA)

Knowledge of rapid HIV testing technologies and supplemental HIV testing algorithms

Knowledge of labor and delivery processes and flows

Knowledge of Illinois perinatal network system

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Solid Administrative ability and strong interpersonal skills required. The ability to work without close supervision, taking ownership of work activities and ensuring tasks meet PACPI and AFC’s standards.

The ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. This includes being conscientious, committed, reliable (e.g., adhering to the attendance policy), trustworthy, and accountable for completing work activities.

Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently while staying focused on tasks and achieving goals with minimum supervision are key to success in this role.
