PACPI launched a supportive housing pilot for high-risk HIV-positive pregnant women in 2009. This partnership is designed to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission, facilitate permanent housing stability for high-risk families and provide significant cost savings to the healthcare system.

Through a partnership with MAC AIDS and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, thirteen permanent housing units have been set aside for PACPI clients.

This partnership also provided:

  • Directly Observed Therapy
  • Mental health support for mothers and children provided through individual and group sessions
  • Educational support for women in the program
  • Childcare support for women in the program to attend the mental health sessions or educational opportunities
